How to?

This section contains descriptions and specific flash demonstrations on how to use Vantage's key functions Import, Analyze, Report, Alias, Tasks and Filtering, and much more.

Import
Import text or SQL log data from a wide variety of third party vendor products, or Windows Event logs, directly from servers or workstations on your network. View the full list of supported log formats.

Analyze
After data has been imported, Vantage enables you to interactively drill down into any area of logged information, such as users, downloads, site names, times and dates, to interrogate specific events.

Reports
Choose from a comprehensive list of web, email, network and security reports or create your own custom report templates specific for your environment. Reports can be generated in HTML, Microsoft® Word, CSV and Text formats.

Alias
Represent raw log data more meaningfully using Aliases.

Tasks
Schedule any action, such as importing and reporting, to occur at convenient times such as overnight or on weekends.

Filtering
Filter out information you do not want to analyze, such as traffic in certain subnets or external IP addresses. Filtering can be done during importing, analysis and reporting. Filters can be saved and re-used.
